Agreement Letter Summer 2022
Grant Installments NEW for 2022:
- Grants will be distributed in two grant installments, one at the start of programming (June/July 2022) and one after the completion of programming and reporting (Sept/Oct 2022). The amount of your second installment will be dependent on review of program receipts submitted. Funds spent on items that are not approved expenditures, will not be reimbursed.
Approved Expenditures for Council Grant Dollars:

- At least 80 percent of your total annual grant is meant for food and beverage purchases. Purchases are to follow the School Nutrition Guidelines for meal and snack programs (pg. 7).
- Ensure menus focus on whole foods and do not rely on ready-to-eat packaged foods.
- Ensure pre-made, packaged and/or canned foods meet the Nutrition Criteria on page 27.
- Confectionery (ex: candy, chocolate bars, gummies, gelatin, desserts, licorice) are not considered to meet the nutrition criteria.
- Chocolate milk OR flavoured, fortified soy beverage OR 100% vegetable/fruit juice is offered no more than once every 2 weeks. Soft drinks are not considered to meet the nutrition criteria.
- At most, you may use up to 20 percent of your total annual grant (or $500, whichever amount is less) for supplies directly related to running a meal program such as cleaning products, food delivery, small kitchen equipment, disposable bowls, spoons, and napkins if required. Items not related to running a meal program are not covered in this grant, such as clothing, sporting equipment, or school and party supplies.
